The Reform UK leader Accuses Teachers of ‘Poisoning Our Kids’ on Racial Topics

The political figure stated that educators would initiate walkouts within weeks a success at the polls for his party, accusing them of “harming young minds” by instructing students that black pupils are victims and white children oppressors.

At a gathering for a Michigan-based religious institution, Farage outlined his viewpoint on British schools, claiming that the “Marxist left” had “taken over schooling”.

“I’m anticipating a teachers’ strike very quickly after securing a victory,” he remarked during a Q&A session.

“They are corrupting young minds. They are telling them to be ashamed of their country. They inform an eight-year-old black child that he is oppressed and little Oliver, who is white, who is eight that he is an oppressor. They create division, instead of fostering unity. They promote this negative culture.”

Reacting to these assertions, Daniel Kebede rejected the idea that the schools were under Marxist influence as “nonsense”. Kebede noted that industrial action must relate to educators’ working conditions, and questioned whether Reform would attack these immediately upon entering government.

“Farage has built his public life on coded rhetoric and now, like Trump, he is targeting educators and their unions for a fight,” Kebede stated.

“I think that’s grossly irresponsible. Neither I nor our union – push critical race theory as he claims … Should he become prime minister he would undermine state services, including education … and the outcome would be catastrophic for students and learning.”

The party, which tops surveys by about 10 points, has not set out much detail on its educational plans and seems not to have designated an education lead.

However, his comments indicated the group would reform the educational framework. Farage declared: “We face an enormous task with schooling – truly monumental. Moreover, we can’t do it in six months or a year; it will take us years, a long-term effort to reform.”

Farage expressed that gen Z was more open to analytical thought, but millennials were “absolutely hopeless”.

Honoring Charlie Kirk, Farage said: “All I want education to do to teach critical thinking – to instruct people that multiple perspectives exist and you make up your own mind rather than what’s happening now where one is virtuous and one is evil. It’s a massive job in the UK and US.”

Reform has previously clashed with the UK’s largest teaching union, after Kebede called the party “extremist and prejudiced” and described the leader as “a poundshop Donald Trump”.

The politician has charged the union head with being “an avowed radical” … someone who is absolutely determined that young minds be corrupted through education, their thinking tainted about everything to do with this country” and maintained that the organization seeks to brainwash youth opposed to his party.

Roughly a million individuals work in schools in the UK, with educators comprising half and the remainder being assistants and administrative personnel. The leading teachers’ organization has about 450,000 members.

National strikes over teacher pay and conditions in 2023 caused widespread disruption in educational institutions and millions of days of lost learning for students.

During the American gathering, the Reform leader also pledged to help spread the digital courses of the Christian college in the UK. He stated such groups were “part of the fightback”, adding that: “I mean this. I will help attract vast numbers of young people to these educational programs. I pledge this tonight and I’ll do that.”

The college, a small private Christian college, provides complimentary classes. Its website states: “Comprehensive learning is vital for well-being and to perpetuate the blessings of civil and religious liberty. The college furnishes these beautiful courses for no charge to all who wish to learn.”
