Tehran reports attacking a American military facility in Bahrain, as the country executed missile attacks throughout the Middle East in response for a large-scale and ongoing offensive targeting the nation by the US and Israel.

Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an vicinity in the area of the headquarters of the American Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The full scale of any destruction is not yet known and the US has remained silent.

Airspace Engagements

In other parts of the Middle East, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and the State of Kuwait - which all house US military bases - reported they have shot down incoming projectiles in their territorial skies.

In the Qatari capital, the Qatari Ministry of Defence said it had intercepted several missiles seemingly aimed at the Al Udeid Air Base, the biggest US military installation in the region.

Iran's Declared Retaliation

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard said in a statement it was attacking US bases and assets as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the offensive on the Islamic Republic carried out by the US and Israel on Saturday morning.

That initial attack - executed at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far targeted sites associated with the the regime, with US President Donald Trump encouraging the people of Iran to revolt against the government.

Regional Fallout

In Israel, sirens were heard nationwide after the Israeli military stated it had identified an incoming Iranian missile barrage.

The defence ministry of the United Arab Emirates said in a statement that the country has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"Emirati air defenses dealt with the projectiles with great effectiveness and destroyed a series of missiles," the statement continued.

The statement noted wreckage fell on a neighborhood in Abu Dhabi, causing some material damage and fatalities.

The United States Air Force is stationed at the Al Dhafra base, south of Abu Dhabi, along with the Emirati Air Force.
